CHERYL KUSHMAN SLOTTERBECK
Cheryl Slotterbeck is an associate with the law firm of Brady, Coyle & Schmidt, Ltd. in Sylvania. Ms. Slotterbeck’s primary areas of practice are general business law, residential and commercial real estate, secured transactions, and consumer law. Her practice includes the handling of business transactions, such as the formation of new businesses, contract review, and the purchase and sale of existing businesses; residential and commercial real estate closings; advising on landlord‑tenant law; negotiation and drafting of leases, easements, liens, and other real estate documents; real property tax revaluations; and foreclosure actions. Ms. Slotterbeck has successfully closed smaller transactions throughout northwest Ohio as well as multimillion dollar transactions involving properties in multiple states.
Ms. Slotterbeck graduated from the University of Toledo College of Arts and Sciences magna cum laude (B.S. 1993) and the University of Toledo College of Law magna cum laude, Order of the Coif (J.D. 2005). She served as an extern for the Honorable James G. Carr of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in 2003. Ms. Slotterbeck was the Editor‑in‑Chief of the University of Toledo Law Review in 2004‑2005. She was admitted to the Ohio bar in 2005.
Before joining Brady, Coyle & Schmidt, Ms. Slotterbeck was an associate in the real estate department at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. Prior to her career as a lawyer, she was a project manager for a software development team at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Ms. Slotterbeck serves on the Board of Governors for the University of Toledo College of Law Alumni Affiliate and is a member of the University of Toledo Honors Alumni Affiliate. Ms. Slotterbeck is a member of the Toledo Bar Association Real Estate Committee and the Ohio State Bar Association. She has served as a Certified Tax Preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Ms. Slotterbeck is also a member of Emerging People, Inspiring Change (EPIC), a young professional initiative launched by the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce.
